In mid-July we were in New York City with our adult daughter and decided to take a pedicab tour of Central Park. I called the number for Peter Pen Tours based on Trip Advisor reviews and I was not disappointed. Our tour guide/driver was Vitali and he was outstanding. Since our daughter had never seen Central Park we decided to take a 2-hour tour and Vitali was able to arrange a time that worked for him and us. After meeting him at a prearranged location we got into his pedicab and he proceeded to tour Central Park on Monday. He took us to various high points of the park and constantly described what we were seeing and stopped every so often to show us photos of the park as it looked in other seasons and in prior years. He took photos of the three of us on numerous occasions and in several locations he stopped and let us take short (5 minute) walks to see some of the Central Park sights a little closer. Note that in a couple of locations the incline was such that Vitali asked us to get out and walk a short distance up the incline while he pedaled his empty pedicab (that may not be an issue if you take this tour with only 2 people instead of the 3 people on our tour). All in all this was an entertaining way to see Central Park and by taking the 2-hour tour instead of the 1-hour tour we got to see more than most people see. Also note that one needs to be very careful in picking out a pedicab tour at random (they are everywhere in the park) as instead of a fixed price for a 1-hour or 2-hour tour, they charge anywhere from $2.99 to $5.99 per MINUTE!!! Thus, a 10-minute ride could you as much as $60, or $360 per hour! But the price for the Peter Pen tour was quite reasonable and we recommend it highly, especially if you get Vitali as your tour guide.
