We decided that this would be the perfect way to see New York's famous Central Park, as we were not familiar with it. We met a very helpful man outside F.A.O Schwarz on 5th Avenue, just on the corner of Central Park, who informed us about the various trips round the park (horse drawn carriage, pedicab, each for various amounts of time, 20 mins, an hour etc...) We got a special deal, as we were a family and it was a Tuesday, which totalled at $150 for the hour trip round Central Park. This is done in a pedicab. The carriages are quite small, so they offered us two carriages which were side by side the whole time. There was adequate storage space under our feet for shopping bags. We were also given a blanket to drape over our legs as it was bitterly cold.
The ride itself was very enjoyable. Our two guides were wonderful, and very informative. They stop at famous locations, such as the fountain where they shot the intro to Friends, although when we went, there was a film being shot there so we did not get to look at the fountain properly. We also stopped at the bridge, which was at the end of the Avengers movie, and the lake where the boat race in Stuart Little 2 took place. The final stop was at John Lennon's memorial, Strawberry Fields. The views from the carriage were beautiful throughout the journey, and I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. Special thanks to our guide Vitaly.
