Can't say enough great things about this trip. Our guide Eddie was very personable and a great sense of humor. We happened to catch a beautiful sunrise, and the biking down was fantastic. I think you have to pedal for about 3% of the ride. Other than that, it's just coasting down the mountain at your own pace. Go and enjoy!

The sunrise tour was amazing. This is a cannot miss when in Maui. First stop was the sunrise at the volcano followed by the downhill bikeride. The sights were amazing and the ride down was breathtaking. The tourguides are very knowledgeable, mellow and fun to be around. This is definitely something to check off your bucket list. I loved Pistol Pete as well as Shiloh our tourguides.

The Tour company was great, and the experience was awesome. I accidentally did not select a small enough bike for my girlfriend and so when we went to get started down the bike was too big. They sorted it out very quickly, sending a bike up as my kids and I started down. She missed a small portion, but was able to experience most of the ride down, which was plenty. They were very very helpful even though it was my fault! I will say that I wish I had thought through the logistics better. We were picked up at our resort in Ka'anapali and thus were supposed to be back for the shuttle. But being last off the bus, and then with slight delay sorting out bikes when we got part way down to the Kula Lodge we were starved. We had planned on stopping for breakfast as recommended by the tour, but hadn't really considered we were leaving hotel at 1:30 AM so we definitely needed a bite. But we didn't have time to eat and get down in time for the shuttle. I called down to say we would miss shuttle and go without us, because I'd rather enjoy breakfast and ride leisurely down rather than skip food and rush. We ended up taking an hour for breakfast with wait, and got down to the bike store about an hour after the shuttle. They had said in morning that unless you took the shuttle, you didn't need to get back until 4:00 or so, which took all the pressure off. Took a Lyft back to hotel and it all worked out. But since we had a rental car, we could have left the hotel later, not worried about the time limit for the shuttle, and not then paid for a Lyft back. Would have been a better plan. Less money, less stress. And we could have explored other things in the area.
