Amazing. From the bus ride up, to the sunrise on the summit of Haleakala to the insane bike ride down - so worth it. Our bus driver Corey was the best. His sense of humor is priceless! His knowledge of the history and culture of the island was very interesting and informative. He’s exactly what you need at that early hour of the morning! The sunrise was a life changing experience. The local park ranger gave a speech during the sunrise that brought me to tears! She was so sincere about the cultural significance of the land and it’s beauty. It was a beautiful moment! The ride down was absolutely insane (in the best way possible)! Twisting and curving down the mountain with breathtaking views was an experience I’ll never forget!!

I wish I could be writing this review based on my amazing experience at Haleakala Sunrise Tour but unfortunately me and my Family were unable to experience it during our trip. We booked this tour with Bike Maui on a Sunday morning for a Friday sunrise (same week). We were called by Bike Maui Thursday morning and were told they had to cancel the tour because they did not have enough guests sign up, and the park would not let them in (4 had signed up-just my family and they needed at least 8 people). Unfortunately, Saturday was the last day of our trip so we were unable to do the sunrise tour at all. My frustration is that when we booked online with Bike Maui we were told we had to cancel within 48 hours or we would be charged, but they canceled on us 12 hours before we were supposed to go on the tour. If we would have been notified sooner, we could have booked the tour on a different day or with a different company. Haleakala is a life changing experience I was lucky to have done it in the past (with a different company) so to look forward to that the entire trip and know I will probably never see it again in my lifetime was upsetting and the way it was handled left a bad taste in my mouth with Bike Maui. With that being said, I recommend the sunrise Haleakala tour to anyone (Self Guided). It is truly magical and an experience like no other. Just make sure it is with the right company!

Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate that you were unable to participate in the activity. Had you had a chance to use our services, I have little doubt that you wouldn't have enjoyed the experience, friendly service, and top of the line equipment. Like many activities on the island we do have minimum requirements to operate that unfortunately were not met on that day. We encourage our guests to reschedule if they can, but in some cases they are unable to. We seek to give our guests the best opportunity to participate in the activity. We may not notify our guests ahead of time that a trip will not meet these requirements simply because we hope to meet those requirements by the activity date. As an example, the party of 4 was the only group on the trip, if 8 is all that is needed all it takes is one more reservation of 4 to meet those requirements. That reservation could come up at any time, and . This is for both existing reservations and those that may call up last minute. Of course, if we cancel any trip ourselves before your activity date, whether it be due to minimum requirements, weather, or any other factor, we would issue a full refund. If any guests are concerned or interested to know more about policies including minimum requirements, we encourage them to contact us for more information.
