This is, by far, the best snorkel trip in Key West. We have been out with them several times and this is who the locals use. Your trip starts with a short sail. Our crew today was 3 guys all very professional and knowledgeable of the boat and the area. We dropped the hook (anchored) and got in the water. The boat is rigged with a huge ladder on the port (left) side and platforms on both sides. Sitting on the platforms make it easy to take your gear off/on. During our snorkel we saw large southern stingrays and the smaller yellow stingrays, lobster hiding in their holes, an abundance of sponges, some typical reef fish even though we were not on a coral reef. After a generous amount of snorkeling, we repositioned the boat near a mangrove "island." We broke into smaller groups, each with a crew member guide, and paddled into the mangroves. His tour was extremely informative and educational. And again, those platforms on the side of the sailboat made it so easy getting in and out of the kayak. Back on the boat, gear stowed, we sailed back to Key West. While onboard fresh fruit, water, wine, and beer (alcohol after snorkeling) were served. There were 16 of us guests onboard. I have gone out with them before when there were only 4 of us. If you have the chance, definitely choose to go out with Danger Charters!!! I think next time we'll do a full day trip.
