My wife and I had an absolute blast on the kayak/hike excursion. It’s hard not to when you get to casually kayak down a river and then walk an easy hike to a rewarding waterfall you can play in. What really made the trip a great time though was our guide, Jordan. He was not only helpful and friendly, but pointed out and explained so many interesting things along the path, whether it was the plants, tress, animals, or the history of the stone walkway you could see spot remnaents of, all of it explained in a way that tied it to the cultural history of the island. It was evident that he cared about preserving the integrity of the landscape, from how he made sure to stop and wait for the entire group before speaking to how he maneuvered out of his way to pick up trash left behind by other hiking groups. AND he picked an incredible pineapple that he cut up and served with out sandwich lunches, and not everyone can pick a good pineapple, so double thumbs up to the whole trip. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I learned on top of a beautiful and fun trip out on the water.
