The experience was amazing. Went with Naturetrek UK on 5 whale watching trips out of Monterey at the end of August 22 with Isaiah and Andrew as our naturalists who were knowledgeable, great communicators, friendly and so enthusiastic it was infectious. Having been on many whale watching trips around the world, all disappointing, this trip surpassed my expectations with regular close sightings of humpbacks, killer whales, four species of dolphins and even got to see a blue whale. The naturalists took time with everyone to explain the life cycle of the food chain in the bay with the whales at the top, in a way which was easily understood and informative. Isaiah with his book on how it all works is worth a special mention, as is Andrews shanty singing. Best holiday experience ever. Full marks. Lyndon and Elaine Payne

What an amazing experience! Saw loads of Humpback Whales & Sea Lions! Iziah & Andrew were great fun & very knowledgeable. This is a trip not to be missed!

We went out with Isaiah as our marine biologist - he was great and really added to our experience with his knowledge and passion. It was a misty morning that didn’t clear much as we got out to sea, so finding whales would be a challenge due to the poor visibility. We were in luck though - and our boat found a humpback whale and within seconds 3 more had appeared. Isaiah warned us they can be tough to keep track of as they can cover a lot of sea in the approx 5 minutes they stay underwater, but they stayed close and we watched them for an hour. Truly incredible experience and recommend Discovery Whale Watch.
