First off, if Jim gets a chance to read this, be sure to check out the title of this review😊
Now, I haven’t been on too many walking tours in my day, but I must say, this was one for the books. Immersive, friendly, and just overall a genuinely interesting experience. Jim made everyone feel comfortable even when it seemed impossible. In fact, while the tour itself was outstanding, it honestly was just made even better by how Jim reacted to everything. Here’s a couple of examples.
- Several encounters with homeless people. For each of them, Jim respectively responded with “I’m sorry man. I’m on a tour right now. Thank you.”
- There was a person who I personally felt continuously either made unnecessary comments or unnecessary interruptions, and to this, Jim respected/responded to them and answered any questions no matter how absurd.
- After leaving the Driskill hotel, there had been some sort of loud altercation happening across the street, and instead of bringing any negative attention towards it, he kindly lead us away, and continued the tour with as much positive energy as he had given the whole tour.
More than this, he was a great storyteller. He seems so intrigued with us being intrigued and that’s what differs a tour guide from a man who is truly proud of what he he is able to share with the world, such as Jim.
Great tour. Would come again!
Ps. He complimented my shirt right off the bat. What a guy!
