This trip was very expensive for what we got. We arrived at 8 am, drove to pick-up somebody else so this tour effectively started at 8:30 am to finish at 11:45 am. And we paid 165/person....
too expensive for what it is.
You don't have to be a Hawaii-50 series fanatic to enjoy this remarkable experience, but it helps.
I loved the original Jack Lord series, and know little about the new series apart from the fact that it has some great Aussie lead actors, but I must confess to leaving the tour with a hunger to watch the new detectives at work.
We took this tour as an opportunity to go to parts of the island that are off the beaten tourist track, and for that alone it was well worth while.
What these guys don't know about the minutia and detail of the 50 productions is not worth knowing.
And the bonus of the tour was the begged-for opportunity to purchase a couple of genuine production crew t-shirts literally of the back of the production truck.
My fellow reviewers have heartily endorser this tour, and I am delighted to share their enthusiasm...so don't miss out....Book it, Danno!
The trip was amazing. I am a Five-0 superfan and my husband was along with me on this tour. He has now become even more of the fan because of the tour. It was so entertaining and so informative. The tour gave us insight to the real personalities of the actors. Now when we watch the show we feel so connected to it. They showed us so many of the locations where the filming is actually done, even the official McGarrett household. The owners of the home are so lovely and came out to spend time with us and share some of their special Five-0 stories. We also drove by Chin's house, Kono's house, Grover's house and Danny's house as seen in episodes of the show. There was plenty of time to take pictures at the locations that we did stop at. I loved that before we would arrive at each location, they would play a video clip of a scene so that we better relate to each location and scene. They even provided background history on both the old and new versions of the show. I learned a lot while having a great deal of fun. We even had lunch at LaMariana at the end of the tour and for you regular fans I know you have seen the episodes in which this was filmed. The hosts of the tour are really great friendly people. Of course it would be spectacular if we would have had the opportunity to see some of the filming or even visit the actual studio where inside filming is done or to see some of the actual props/vehicles used in the show. Thanks for showing me a super great time.
