This 5.5-hour tour first covers the High Line, an elevated railway line that has been turned into a beautiful park and has helped transform the whole west side of Manhattan.

Next onto the food tour! Stroll the brownstone lined streets of Greenwich Village and see why artists, writers, & musicians have continuously flocked to this part of NYC. You will be treated to a variety of foods that are chosen to compliment your NYC experience. From the best pizza to an old-school butcher shop, this is one lunch you will never forget.

Walk off all that food on this fascinating tour that takes you past some of NYC's most important institutions. This area is the birthplace of NYC, and your guide will share their immense knowledge of how it emerged from a Dutch fur-trading outpost and colonial stronghold, to a land of towering skyscrapers and glittering lights.

  • Food begins around 12:45 PM in Greenwich Village. We recommend a light breakfast to hold you over during the morning tour.

I took my first tour with Manhattan Tours and toured the High Line. It was a great tour, very informational and I learned so much! My guide Tom was very knowledgeable and did the tour with a very casual and comfortable style. The pace was great and the amount of time allotted was just perfect. I would definitely recommend this tour to a New Yorker or a visitor!!

Our guide was Kevin. He is born and raised in Brooklyn . A former history teacher and former police officer, he was a fantastic guide. Pointing out interesting details in architecture, endless stories about the different neighborhoods. I didn't expect to see so much in just a few hours and yet, we were not rushed, the pace was perfect. The food was awesome as well. I doubt you will be hungry. Overall, we were thrilled with our tour. I would definitely go on another tour! Ben

Four of us took the Greenwich Village foodie tour. First off, this is SO much more than a 'food' tour. Kevin was an excellent guide: born and raised in NY (Bronx), ex-cop, ex-high school history teacher, among many other things. Knows the city and it's history (even the esoteric stuff) like the back of his hand, and even took us into the 6th Precinct where he used to work so we could see the small museum there. Food sampling ranged from OK to excellent (really depends upon personal taste, so I'm not going to belabor it. If you like carbs, you'll like the tour :D). The real fun and value of this tour is experiencing the Village/Chelsea with someone who's lived in the city his entire life and LOVES it. Would recommend to any and all.
