Four of us were booked for the Volcano Safari while in Hilo for the day with NCL. It did not disappoint. Luana and Kayla were amazing. Very friendly, knowledgeable and were willing and open to suggestions. They are both new so we expected some snafus but there were little to speak of, really. They have firsthand knowledge of the places we went and were able to go places that any cruise excursion would never have gone. Well worth the price and time. My one suggestion would be to map out the day a little better to be a little more succinct. We backtracked quite a bit and probably could have either been back earlier or squeezed in another place. All in all, a great day! Will definitely recommend!

Aloha Sydney we were so happy to have your join us on our new Volcano Safari Tour! Thank you for the kind review and critique and will be sure to share it with the others. we have to back track on a few roads due to the lava that has blocked them. Hawaii state is working on clearing some of them so that will help in the future for sure. :)

Edmund was a very kind and considerate tour guide. He let the nature of Hawaii speak for itself. Even though it rain he came prepared and still made it a great tour!

After disembarking from the ship, we met Bob. Besides ourselves, there was another couple. Bob was very engaging and knowledgeable; since he is a Native of the island he was able to tell us numerous stories and insights into the history and current status of Hilo. As outlined in the site, we saw the Lava Forest and Rainbow Falls, and stopped and had lunch at the Macadamia Nut farm. It was lovely just having the four of us, since we were able to interact and have all of our questions answered. (We saw backroads, and even where Bob and his family live.) The up close and personal tour is the only way to go, as compared to the big green buses at some of our other stops. Bob, thank you for a great day, and wish we had your tour when we saw you again in Kona. Also, we hope you had a great time at the Rose Parade!
