Gold, Gold, Gold! Alaska is known for oil and gold. Our guides are familiar with gold panning and the man who first discovered gold in July 1902, starting the Fairbanks Gold Rush. This monument is one of many treasures we are happy to share whenever possible with guests. Please remember we go where the clear skies are and not all guests have the same locations to visit. If you want to learn about Alaskan History, ask our wonderful guides who are happy to share both personal and historical facts and stories.

Alyeska Pipeline Viewing Point

Here at Aurora in Alaska we go to the best cloud free location each night. One of our favorites stops along the way is the awe-inspiring and historical Alyeska Pipeline. Whenever possible our guides happily share our Alaskan history with oil and take guests up close and personal to the pipeline.

Our two aurora guides, Andrew and Mike, were very caring and extremely professional. They remained on location well past their normal, early morning cutoff time with the hope of finding a more vibrant aurora and better photos for all guests. That strategy paid off handsomely, as the aurora appearing later in the early morning was much brighter and more colorful than the aurora seen earlier that evening. Their photos are amazing. Highly recommended aurora tour.

They texted me and suggested I reschedule based on the forecast and they were right. They provided a lot of info beforehand so we would be prepared and were super communicative about pickup, too; with live tracking of the driver like you get in rideshare apps. Our group was very well cared for and the guides were both knowledgeable and interesting people. They made a fire, set up chairs, had reindeer hot dogs for us to roast on the fire and provided coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. They also had DSLRs with tripods and everyone got photos included in the tour cost. They will cancel and refund you if the odds of seeing it are poor, and if you go out with them and don’t see it they give you half your money back. 11 out of 10!

It was an incredible experience with beautiful photos to remember it by. The tour guides were very personable, brought us to a great location and provided set up the nice warm campfire. I traveled solo but had a great group in my tour visits from many different regions to see the auroras. My tour guides were Mike and Andre (?).
