NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! *review on transport van only*
Monday May 9th, 2022 4:15pm pick up in front of Ross store started off with the WORST possible impression of a business with the bus/van driver, Kelei, BARKING/SCREAMING at my family to trash the $8 bubble smoothie drink we just bought for our 2 year old daughter (wrapped in a plastic bag for transport, that we could put in a larger storage bag with no issue). He could have just asked nicely/calmly/politely, "I've had issues with drinks on board... so sorry, can we please dispose of the drink before boarding bus?" We are understanding people; we would have complied. Instead YELLED, "NO DRINKS ON THE BUS!! TRASH THAT! I'VE HAD ISSUES ONBOARD! DON'T EVEN BRING IT IN A PLASTIC BAG."
He was SO RUDE to my entire family. First trip with our 2 year old daughter and my parents to Hawaii. What a crappy, terrible impression right before an event to enjoy Hawaiian culture/tradition! No aloha spirit. He ruined our evening before it started.
Entire ride he talked about how he tried to pick up women at a lesbian bar and which strains of marijuana he likes/is going to smoke right after drop-off. He drove so fast after the Lūʻau because he was in a hurry to go home and smoke weed. His words. Highly inconsiderate of families traveling with children!
Management of Lūʻau should consider whether a crap employee such as Kelei should be the first and last impression to customers of their business.
The actual Lūʻau was lovely. Village leader Jerry, fire dancing Kekoa & Tui, the host, and all the lovely hula dancing ladies were great 5/5. Funny and entertaining. Buffet style dinner was a nice experience 3/5.
