This is the first time I have ever had to write a bad review, but our experience cannot go without feedback. We took our teenage children to Hawaii for a once in a lifetime family trip and enjoyed absolutely everything except this activity. It was the low point of our vacation. We had Timothy for our guide. Although there were other negative reviews about him, we went in with a positive attitude looking for nothing less than a great experience like we'd had for all our other excursions. However, that is not what we got. Even though he couldn't take us out to the spot where you typically go due to rough currents and waves, Timothy could have made it enjoyable by just paying attention to and generating conversation with his customers/participants...but he didn't. He had us just paddle up and down the coastline. At one point, he asked the group do you want to go back down the coastline again or stay here for a bit? Our son answered, "stay here". He was the only one that responded. A minute or two later, Timonthy said, I think I heard you all want to paddle back down, so let's go. He proceeded to turn his boat away from everyone and started paddling again. He has no customer service skills. One person in our group was an older female who was struggling to keep up. He never once asked her if she was okay, should he slow down or just take a break. The only positive was the person in the office location that greeted us with a smile and was pleasant checking us in. Bottom line is we do not recommend this company. Find another one, or you'll be wasting your time and money.

Ryan was an excellent guide. Also thanks to Maui sports giving us the kayak and snorkeling at no extra charge due to not enough people for kayak only and instead of canceling us called us to arrive at the earlier time. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was very funny also. He was also very safety conscious due to rough waves. Had a great time
