I just finished an amazing kayak paddle tour at Lahaina - Maui Ocean Sports ..... Beautiful day, beautiful ocean, sea turtles and a few small sharks. Two hours of heaven! Jason, our guide, was the best!!!!! Really, if you go, ask for him! He's like ohana, for real!!!! Knowledgeable, fun, easy going.... Da best!🤙

Wanting to get out of the hustle and bustle of Ka’anapali, we looked for a kayaking tour in the area. Something that could get us out and away from the hustle and bustle, and give us a different view of the island. We came across Maui Ocean Sports on google and thought we’d give the 1pm Kayaking tour ago. British phones not working in Hawaii, we couldn’t ring ahead, so thought we’d try our luck at 12, and see if there were slots available. We were met by one of the nicest guys you could meet, Jason. Honestly one of the most welcoming people around. He listened to what we wanted, took a genuine interest and it just felt like talking to an old friend. We were informed that the 1pm tour wasn’t running, which we understood and we weren’t annoyed, just one of those things. But that’s where this company came into its own! Jason rang round their tour guides, asked his son to go look where the previous tour was up to etc etc. Anything to try and get us on the water! We chatted for around 15/20minutes, at which point Jason suggested we come back in half an hour and a guide should be back by then. Sure enough, we went for a drink and after half an hour Garrett (our guide) was back and more than willing to take us out! Just us two. For the same price as the tour. Unbelievable! Garrett, our guide, was fantastic. Funny, knowledgable, and again, felt like talking to an old friend! We got water and snacks given to us for the tour and learnt so much about Hawaii, it’s history and all the wildlife! Even seeing lots of turtles along the way. Suffice to say we gave both the gentlemen a tip and would encourage everyone else to do so! I only wish I had more cash in my wallet, because they deserved every single cent! Thankyou so much Maui Ocean Sports, Jason and Garrett! I’ll be recommending people come to Maui JUST for this business!

We had a terrible experience with Maui Outdoor sports today. The company failed to provide the trip at he scheduled time and ruined our plans for the whole day. Then, when we finally went on the tour, the guide left me alone in the boat with two young kids and left. My kayak was washed to the shore and I had to get two young kids ages 3 and 8 out of the kayak out of the boat by myself and make sure the kayak didn’t wash away. I have back problems and didn’t appreciate having to drag the kayak out of the water by myself with two kids in it. Also, I found the tour guide to make mocking and disrespectful remarks about our family. Never again!

I have so much compassion for you and the situation. You arrived late, already in a bad mood with your husband shouting at you and your kids, only to find out that we had a technical glitch and had not received your reservation from the Internet. I apologized profusely and started giving you solutions to the problem. Your husband continued to shout at you, and also at me, so you began demanding that I fix the problem and give you something over and above the trip to make up for the inconvenience. I treated you as a treat all our customers, with kindness and love. I scheduled you on a private trip with your own guide for later that afternoon, and gave you a refund. I then offered you free beach rentals for your kids and walked you down to the beach to wait for your tour time. All of you seemed quite happy with the solution and showed back up later for your schedule tour time. Our guide that took you out is a wonderful and respectful man. He gave you the tour as described but about halfway through your husband began complaining that his back was hurting and that he didn’t think this was supposed to be a kayak trip and that you had misinformed him. He demanded that we end the trip immediately and take you back. At that point he got out of his kayak which her shared with your young daughter and left her alone in the kayak on the ocean. Our guide went and recovered her, attached her kayak to his own and started to tow her back. Meanwhile you and your other daughters decided at that point to beach your kayak by yourselves leaving the guide who was tending to the daughter that was alone. As soon as our guide saw this happening he came back, still towing the first daughter, to help you. All throughout the trip he checked in with you to make sure everything was OK and you repeatedly told him YES with laughter and smiles and even tipped him $20 at the end of the trip. As you can imagine, he was very upset when he saw your review, knowing that he had lead an excellent trip and done right by your family. I see you have posted this review on both Yelp and Tripadvisor and again I have compassion for you that you feel the need to slander our company with untruths, however, I know that we value every guest and spread love and kindness everywhere we go, not just in our business but also in our daily lives. We did our absolute best to make things right by you and all of our 5 star reviews can attest to this fact. I send you and your family much love and aloha.
