Great trip for those who are not as adventurous. The views were fantastic and we had a great time! Azeline was our guide and she was great! She relaxed a few uncomfortable rafters and really let us enjoy the trip!

I think a tour guide can make or break a trip, specially when you are traveling with kids. Our tour guide, Ayrn, is simply excellent. She was knowledgeable and funny. She kept us totally entertained during our trip through the lower Piegon river. This is a definite highlight of our trip at the Smokey Mountain and my kids already asking when they can go back and do the upper Pigeon river with Ayrn,

Wife and I had done whitewater rafting before but this was our kids (ages 9 and 6) first trip, so we chose the easier lower Pigeon trip to see if they liked it. Both kids loved the experience and the nine year old asked if we could go again as soon as we were finished. There are some rapids on this trip but none are too big or very scary. Due to dam releases they only run this trip in certain days and times. Check website for schedule. Had Joshton (spelling?) as our guide. Very friendly with the kids and was interesting to listen to. Trip was just right at about 1.5 hours on the water. Put in is located at business site and a short ten minute bus ride takes you back. Changing rooms are available when you get back. Only complaint was that they didn’t start on time. The beginning of the prep instructions didn’t start until close to 1:30 for a 1:00 trip. Overall, there are several rafting companies that do this trip out of Hartford but was satisfied enough with Rip Roaring to do the upper river section next time we are in the area.

Being able to get kids on the river and share our love for whitewater is the best part of our jobs. I’m so sorry the trip left later than scheduled , you should have been actually getting on the river at 1:30, we have discussed what happened as a team to create the delay and will remedy that situation in the future.
