We went out last night, via the Bite Me boat tour vendor, to see manta rays. Unfortunately, our boat was the last one to enter the area to see the mantas. By the time we were in the water, we saw ONE manta, and then everything went to hell in a hand basket. Everyone in our boat group was stung by Man O'War jelly fish. All we heard was screaming ask people were getting stung. We heard children screaming and crying, as they were stung. Several of us were stung multiple times, before the crew finally suggested we head back to the boat. My partner and I were at the point to just swim to another nearby boat (any boat that was actually anchored), as it was taking forever for our boat to return to us, to get us out of the water. It took forever until we were back on the boat, at which time we realized how badly most of our group was stung. My partner and I had to go to a Grocery store to buy vinegar, as the captain told us that vinegar helps tame the sting. They also said the pain would only last an hour, however, that is not the case because my partner is still in pain from where her entire wrist and forearm were stung last night, nearly 12 hours ago. The Captain told everyone to call the Bite Me office at 10am, when they open. I called them at 10am, and they said it was at our own risk to go in the water, and they refused to refund any of our money. She offered us another trip out to sea, but we refused. We didn't want to risk enduring such an awful/painful excursion again. We are very disappointed in how things were handled last night. If our boat were anchored the same way all the other surrounding boats were, we would have been back on the boat much sooner, with less stings. Before you decide to take this adventure, please consider that this could also happen to you.
