Have taken other city tours, but found his one pretty ordinary. The pickup at the visitors centre was disorganised, we were greeted with what's your name and have you paid? about three times. Told to get on a bus, then grilled again as to who we were and if we had paid. The woman driving our bus was bossy and not friendly or welcoming at all. Told us our vouchers were wrong and we couldn't take the full trip. Not interested that we had verification on our phone, she had to have a paper copy. As an afterthought she said she would confirm with the office. We were made to feel like kids in school.
She drove the bus around the city and rattled off points of interest but there was no connection with customers. A 15 min stop in a hospital car park? At Beale St we were given strict instructions on the time to be back, and when a thunderstorm delayed a few people, she was most displeased. She commented that was no excuse and they were told to be back at a certain time. I was quite taken aback by her attitude.
The success of a tour depends on the drivers interest as well as experience and that's where this one was let down.
Very great tour. Sam was our tour guide and he was extremely friendly and just chock full of information about the city. I would highly recommend to anyone. Super price for what all we got.
Although we had seen some of this the day before on the Hop On and Hop Off each driver is unique in their own interpretation. We got to spend time at previous Hop On and Hop off sites and revisit what we might have missed. Driver was very amusing and gave us new insight.
