The 4x4 Extended backcountry tour offers all Highlight stops and additional stops that are not covered in the regular backcountry tour. Spend more time with your Navajo guide and indulge in an experience that uncovers the secrets, myths, and legends of the Navajo Culture. Navigate through 28 miles of Monument Valley's Finest spectacles where movies, commercials, and performances were made. Enjoy the luxury of exploring areas that are off-limits to normal travelers; and listen and watch your guide bring the monuments to life through its history, story telling, and live performances. Enjoy a visit to a local Navajo Hogan and watch a demonstration of the art of Navajo Rug Weaving. Behind the breathtaking Mesas, Buttes, Spires, and Arches there are hidden stories waiting to be told.

The Tribal Park Admission Fee is not included. ($8 per person)

The back country tour with Larry, our Navajo guide was exceptional. This tour gives you access to areas the main tourist route cannot access, and the sites were truly awe-inspiring (well worth the extra time and investment). Larry gave excellent and informative cultural and geographical information to us throughout, which felt really personal. He was also incredible at setting up picture shots to maximise the impact of the landscapes. 10/10! Couldn’t recommend more highly!

The tour was very informative and I loved listening to the stories and rich history. Our guide, Larry, was very helpful and took wonderful photos of my family. You visit several interesting sites and even our 7yo was enjoying herself. Overall, a really good experience that contributed to a good end of the year trip!

FANTASTIC! Very informational, expansive, fun and introspective. Thank you for inviting us to your realm and sharing your culture, We were shown around the land learning the different mesas and buttes. In addition, we visited a Hogan and heard stories of the past and how the inhabitants of the area are living today. Bruce was entertaining, informative, wise and offered an incredible experience, While we were under a natural arch, he sang a native song about people coming together, honoring the earth, and respecting one another. It was incredibly moving and impactful. Please seek him out - he is fun, and a wise sage. This is a must have experience when traveling to this part of the country.
