New Archangel Dancers Russian and Ukrainian Folk Dance Show

We are an all-women, non-profit volunteer group that live and work in Sitka. Since 1969 the New Archangel Dancers have promoted Alaska as a visitor destination by sharing their knowledge of Sitka's Russian History and their pride in Alaska.

The Dancers' success and notoriety have been enhanced by regular guest performances at the opening of new Alaska Airlines terminals, at Alaska Governors' inaugural celebrations, and at various dance festivals, tourism trade shows, conferences, and public events. In addition to performing throughout the "lower 48," the dancers have performed to enthusiastic audiences in Hawaii, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Harrigan Centennial Hall

Enjoy a traditional Russian, Ukrainian & Moldavian Folk Dance Show. These were prominent in Sitka during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Dancers support the performing arts in the community of Sitka and promote and encourage tourism.

What a delightful performance! It was a joyous experience filled with grace, skill, smiles and humor. The costumes were lovely and the spirited dancers brightened everyone’s day! If you have the opportunity to attend a performance it is absolutely worth scheduling your day around it!

A great half hour's fun. Lots of energy and enthusiasm. The dancers present an authentic interpretation of the Russian standards- troika and the like.

Wonderful! Worth every cent for this fun culturally enlightening experience. These ladies put in a lot of volunteer time and effort to make this show visually stunning! I would highly recommend going and the next time I'm in Sitka I plan to go again.
