The only reason i went for this pass was because of the Hop On Hop Off Bus 5 day pass. All the other passes only offered 1 day hop on hop off which is not great as you would not be able to cover all the routes in one day especially with NYC traffic. We used the bus tour to get around the city so it saves on using other transport. Since we had prebooked before 1st April we were entitled to use Empire State Building. I only noticed a few days before our trip in May that they had now included Top Of the Rock and 9/11 Museum, both of which i had booked separately which was quite annoying. They should really send email notifications out of any changes made to the pass. Also when i tried contacting using the contact form i got no response, so in terms of communication, this is poor. We went to the Visitor Center on 777 8th Avenue to collect our passes and wow were they rude? Such a poor customer service, they refused to give us a Card version of the passes, so i relied on my print out from home throughout the trip. They were not forthcoming to answer my questions, gave short rude responses, i just wanted to get out of there. Once i had my pass though, i was worried about the Empire State entry and it seemed at the ticket office for ESB, they were not aware of the change and thought that Sightseeing Passes are now not usable, but they managed to give us tickets in the end. In total, the attractions we used were:
Hop On Hop Off Bus (Downtown, Uptown, Brooklyn, Night tour. Have to collect on the day of activation ,usually worth $59 a day!)
Empire State Building
Statue Of Liberty Ferry (this does drop you off to Liberty Island and Ellis Island)
One World Observatory
Madame Tussauds
Ripley's Believe it or Not
American Museum of Natural History
Central Park TV and Movie Sites Tour
Buffalo Wild Wings (free Set Menu, Tips/Tax not included)
Woodbury Common Transfer (comes with free coupon booklet worth $10)
As you can see we covered a fair bit, also note we did use the Hop On Hop Off every day ($295 for 5 days!!) so this alone made the pass worthwhile.
Would have been nice to use Top Of the Rock and 9/11 Museum as well but due to lack of communication we were not aware.
I would use this pass again but their communication needs to be better.
