View many varieties of whales which include the giant blue whale which is over 90 feet in length, humpback whales, gray whales, finback whales whales, several types of dolphin, seals, and other neat marine life. Just outside of Newport Bay is the beginning of one of the largest marine protected areas in southern California created to protect this rich ecosystem for future generations. The protected marine sanctuary covers over 15 miles and provides a haven for all marine creatures including whales and dolphin. With such amazing habitat for mammals so close to Newport Bay, whale watching cruises of 2-2.5 hours is all that is needed for viewing these giants. Newport Landing offers multiple whale watching cruises daily and with a 96% success rate viewing whales and/or dolphins, almost every trip will have viewing opportunities.

Trip was really good. We watched lots of dolphins! No whales though. No luck this time, but maybe next time.
The only problem weI had was at the office. I showed my paperwork to one of the guys checking reservations since I bought the passes online, well he turned me away and told me that those passes were for another boat company and pointed me to where it was. So I went there and they told me that It wasn't with them, that I should go to the place I was in the first time. I returned to ask them again and they told me that is not them. So I asked at several whale watching businesses and they all pointed me the place I was at the beginning, by that time my departure time already passed. My husband then went to this place AGAIN and they told him the same thing, this paperwork is not for us and my husband told them, Yes it is. Everyone is sending us here, so yes, this is you, check in your computer and lo and behold our names were there. The guy didn't apologize and told my husband that our boat already sailed. Luckily his manager intervened and booked us for the next trip that was about to leave in 10 minutes. Well after running from one place to another for a bit we finally went in our cruise! I would recommend it, I even would take another cruise with them since besides the incident at the beginning, we really had a great time at the boat.

We were changed from Monday to Tuesday, due to the weather. The ship had not gone out in 7 days. We were the lucky ones. We went out and on the way back in we saw a gray whale. The ships crew were very helpful and knew all about the sea life. They were very informative. We had a great time. I definitely recommend them for anyone wanting to go whale watching. Great time.

Great trip! Views of the California coastline were nice. Customer service was on point and the captain was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw a mom and calf whale almost immediately when we got out on the water. The best part were the dolphins who swam right up to the boat and started jumping in and out of the water. It was a nice relaxing trip. I'd recommend to a friend.
