Never been on a food tour before, but this excursion whet my appetite to do it again. You could spend a day in Newport wondering around on your own and probably stumble into a few decent places. But this wonderful tour removes the possibility of any missteps. Our guide, Morgan C., was charming, organized and well informed. She herded our small group (met some lovely folks on the tour) into several delicious spots that included some of the best French fries we ever had, and smokin’ ribs from a Mexican joint of all places. In between food stops Morgan provided historical and cultural tidbits of the area. She may also be the only area tour guide versed in Shakespearean sonnets. If you choose to take this tour, and you should, ask for her. What a delightful way to spend a few hours in Newport.
