My wife and I had the incredible opportunity to snorkel with Manta Rays thanks to Sea Quest. First of all, the entire staff of Sea Quest were just fantastic to us and all of their guests. This experience is done after sunset and we went out to a great spot off of the Kona coast to see the Manta Rays up close and personal. I am not a great swimmer or snorkeler, but the staff at Sea Quest really made things so very easy and comfortable. On our way out to visit with the Rays, the staff provides some great information on the area we are going to, as well as interesting tidbits about the Manta Rays. Once we reached our destination (a quick 5-10 minute boat ride), we hit the water. They have constructed these rafts and it really is so simple. You get in the water and make your way over to the raft (wet-suits are provided if necessary). You grab a hold of the PVC piping, slip a swimming noodle under your feet and just sort of float on top of the water. They shine bright lights down into the ocean which attracts krill, and therefore, attracts the Manta Rays! We saw several Rays, as well as some other fish during our experience, it was really an experience of a lifetime! I would highly recommend adding this to your itinerary if you are going to be visiting the Big Island and staying anywhere near the Kona area.

I did the Night Manta and Expedition South Kona trips on consecutive days and both were excellent. We were in the water for about 40 mins before a manta finally showed and the driver, Kevin, was nice enough to extend our time a little to make sure we had enough time with the manta. The experience was amazing and the manta swims right in front of you. A must for Kona for those who enjoy snorkeling. The divers, John and Melissa, and the boat operator, Kevin, were all very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I went out on the Expedition South Kona Cruise the next morning with Lauren and Skyler. Also very friendly/knowledgeable/helpful. We stopped to swim with a pod of spinner dolphins on our way down the coast, and also saw humpbacks breaching/fin slapping, which was awesome. Went to Two Step first (Honauna Bay) and saw 3 turtles, sleeping white tip reef sharks and all kinds of fish. Captain Cooks was similarly amazing, although we did not see any turtles here. Stopped in some sea caves on the way back. Overall, both trips were easily worth the money and are highly recommended for anyone interested in a unique snorkel experience.

Shout out to John, Anna, Jasmine, Courtney for the experience. Very friendly staff, you will definitely see manta Ray's and they are beautiful. Worth the money and would definitely come back again.
