What if we don’t see any mantas? It is an extremely rare occurrence, but if we do not see ANY manta rays on our Night Manta Experience, you are welcome to come back out with us again during the same vacation, based on availability, totally free of charge. Make sure you call us right away so that we may reschedule you! Non-refundable and non-transferable.

We are fortunate to see mantas almost every night, but on the rare occasion where none are sighted on your tour, Sea Quest invites you to come back out on another night at no additional cost to you, or on a confirmed afternoon snorkeling adventure at no additional charge. 100% recommendation ANYONE to go. There were 7 rays that kept flipping up and some close enough to bump into us. The guides were explaining the different rays and facts as you watched. They even know the names of the rays based upon the spots on the belly!

Very cool experience! Parking can be a challenge as it is on-street and there are quiet a few guests all arriving at the same time, so do plan some extra time for finding a spot and walking to the office/boat launch. The boat ride out to the snorkel site is very short--only about 5 minutes. Though short, the return trip is rather chilly, especially if it is also raining (and you will not have access to your towel until you get back). For me, these minor inconveniences did not detract from the experience of viewing the mantas up-close. We were in the water for about 25-30 minutes, and mantas were visible beneath us for most of that time. Our guides estimated that we had 8-9 rays visiting us (you can tell them apart by their unique pattern of spots), and at we did see at least 6 at the same time (very interesting to see them interact with one another). I would definitely recommend this experience for people who are already comfortable snorkeling, as you need to understand how to float face-down with your legs and feet remaining on the surface, and will need to be comfortable jumping out of the boat and swimming a short distance to the light boards.

This is one of the best tours on the BIG Island. It is an unforgettable experience! The staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly! We saw about 10 huge manta rays that came up close. I highly recommend booking your manta tour with Sea Quest!
