This trip was cancelled by the vendor on the night before, but I'm providing 4 stars, nonetheless. Communication was timely, and the reason was -50 degree temps, which made the original tour unsafe. They offered, instead, a lower-priced and local 'Northern Lights Lodge Viewing in Fairbanks' trip, which provided a safer, and at least an enjoyable alternative experience. I was disappointed not to be able to go to the Arctic Circle, but I understand why. The other trip is on Viator, too, and I'll review it there.
Least engaging tour we've ever experienced. Tour guide did not make an effort to introduce anything related to Alaska or the Arctic Circle during the trip. Food was cheap and insufficient. Only one planned stop during the entire event. Would've missed the Northern Lights if we did not insist on staying at a specific location. Tour is absolutely a scam at this price.
It was a good trip. The trade off on the trip is that the drive is much less fun couldn't see the Yukon River, just the bridge because it's dark so early, but that's necessary to be able to see the lights. As always, liked some people in the van more than others, but the small group did make it much more informative. Driver was nice and pleasant, but waded into politics and topics he was less familiar about a bit too much--not a problem, just an observation.
