This tour only runs in the winter months from Sept 1st through May 1st. This trip will be focused on the Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights. It offers some of the most amazing views that Mother Nature offers. There is no disappointments on this trip as you will return home with those ultimate memories and photographs of a lifetime! Our trips are not fast and quick as we love watching the lights too! Expect hours of fun, great conversation and learning how to photography the lights.

For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.

At the time of confirmation I was told from tomorrow weather will be worst, so tonight you have a good chance to see the northern lights. We did 9 hours of flight to come in Alaska. Today the weather is amazing. I understand mother nature has a big role in this tour but do not give hope to tourists who will be disappointed with no sleep in a full seats van. I would suggest Viator to refund at least 50% of purchase price in case of a negative nature outcome.

We went to see the Northern Lights on Sept 18, 2021 but there was no Northern Lights. We spent $550 to see nothing but a full moon and stars. Our friends who came here 2 weeks ago said the same thing that there was no Northern Lights and only in the month of March - May when there is Northern Lights. Why the agency like Viator sells Northern Lights tour if there’s no Northern Lights?
