Good tour although rather rushed at Oak Alley as tour guide of house asked for questions but didn’t really want them as need keep moving as next group was coming behind us. Not enough time to look at slave accommodation and absorb the information.

Once we arrived it was well worth it. The tour through the grand house was very informative. As well as the information about the slave homes. Would have liked a little more time as we didn’t see everything.

The beauty of the grounds at Oak Alley is breathtaking! The tour was very informative as it carried us through the generations who owned the home. I appreciated how the role of the slaves within the home was incorporated throughout the tour. It surely gave a sobering account of the exploitation of these poor souls amidst the opulence of the home and its owners. I certainly walked away with a better understanding of life on a plantation. The guide that did the slavery tour was not only informative but very passionate. Highly recommend.
