If you are new to Alaska, I would highly recommend this tour! Bob was an amazing guide - not only does he know the best spots to take you, but he also adds a personal touch to the tour, and that makes it a more enjoyable experience. This might be the best tour for you if you are interested in viewing animals/birds in their natural habitat, or if you want to see the best, most picturesque views near Anchorage. You will get to cover many things - amazing views of glaciers, icy rivers, mountains, wetlands, wildlife (bears, mountain goat, moose, eagles etc in their natural habitat and not just in the conservation center! No other tour guide will help you see animals out in the wild, except for Bob), and a lot of fun facts about Anchorage and surrounding area! Plus, we weren't exhausted after this tour as we only went to the best spots instead of wandering around. Amazing experience!

I didn’t expect such a rich history and culture in Alaska. I was blown away by everything Bob showed our tour group. The guy is awesome and made this adventure the most memorable ever for me in particular. I enjoyed the exploration of the wilderness, ice lakes, glacier views and being introduced to an array of landmarks in Anchorage and the outskirts, the mountains – oh! so many of them and Bob names them all. This land has an amazing and unique feel to it and is surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty. Thanks, Bob, for a super fun filled excursion. btw - thanks for the free photo lesson and dropping in some Frank Sinatra to top it off for a fella. :)

My husband and I booked this tour last minute and it was the highlight of our trip to Anchorage. Bob picked us up from our hotel and we were off, traveling along the Seward Highway toward the Turrnagain arm. We visited the Alaska Conservation Center and the "ring of glaciers". Although it had recently snowed, Bob was able to show us how to spot the glaciers -- something I know we would have missed had we gone on our own. Bob is very knowledgeable about the area and it's history -- it is apparent that he really cares about the area and the tour feels very personal. We learned a lot on the tour. The photography tips are a bonus! We really enjoyed our afternoon with Bob.

Thank you Melissa for sharing with others who will be visiting Anchorage. btw, I absolutely love our wilderness with its wildlife, knowing each mountain peak by name--and first hand knowledge of those historic mountain passes. I enjoy everyday that allows me to share our surrounding beauty.
