This was my second whale watching tour, two different companies. Notable to mention that although will see humpback whales, I have not seen any breach. (Perhaps they were just shy around me.) Also, boat needs to stay 100 yards away, though whales can swim closer. (I tried to entice one with peanut butter.) Quality, friendly company. Very responsive and accommodating (within minutes they quickly shifting the date for me to the same day when fog derailed another planned tour). Large, comfy, warm boat. Great, informative and friendly crew, our having Jason, Ben and Captain Jess. Reasonably priced. Plenty of whales. Oh, and though they are the stars, let’s not forget the gorgeous scenery.
For the Mendenhall Glacier part, the bus drops guests off there, then folks explore on their own, returning to town in a separate bus. The waterfall near the glacier (Nugget Falls Trail) is stunning, the power and enormity something to see.
