Private Arctic Circle Expedition from Fairbanks

Огляд
This is a small, private tour to the Arctic Circle. Passengers will be riding in a comfy 2025 Toyota Sequoia and brand new winter tires.

Scheduling on the website is a bit tricky and doesn't allow for next day returns, just keep in mind the trip will take 10-12 hours depending on weather and how much time you'd like to spend at each location.

We'll be travelling through mountain passes, river valleys, and possibly seeing the Northern Lights along the way.

This tour is flexible and allows for you to request a stop anywhere along the way to stretch your legs, take photos, or even just enjoy the views.

Pickup Time is completely customizable to work with your schedule!

It was our last night in Fairbanks and our tour the night before was cancelled due to snow. Very anxious with this trip. If we don't get to see the lights tonight, then our trip was a waste. Ian picked us up at our hotel promptly at 2:30pm. Then we started the 5 hour drive to the Arctic Circle. The drive was very scenic. White mountains, with the sun setting on our left. We stopped to capture the sunset. Arrived at the arctic circle around 8:30pm. Then we started to drive back to the city By 10pm, we were getting anxious, it seems that the lights won't be showing up..By 11pm, Ian told us that the lights, are starting up. He can see faint mists in the sky. We stopped by the Dalton highway sign and there it was, like a rainbow at night. We drove a few more miles and stopped at a clearing and got lucky to see them dance. We did the chase until around 3am and the lights weren't as vibrant as we got nearer to the city. This private tour was a bit more expensive than the van tour but since there were 4 of us we only paid USD300 each but we knew we chose the right tour when the van sped past us while we watched the aurora dance. Ian Lee is very knowledgeable and passionate of the Aurora Borrealis. A bit soft-spoken but you'll get used to it. It was like he is one of our companions in the tour. He gets excited whenever he sees a glimpse of the lights and that excitement hypes us up. He found the perfect spots and took a lot of photos.

My husband, daughter and I were very impressed with this tour. Ian, our guide, was very knowledgeable and provided us with interesting details along the route. His vehicle was very comfortable and his driving was excellent, which was much appreciated. We had a very enjoyable day. It is definitely a once in a life time experience. We would recommend this tour for any family or small group. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I were on a short trip to Fairbanks and were on the lookout for a fun and unique adventure to go on when we saw this tour pop up. We really wanted to go to the Arctic Circle and see the Yukon River and options were limited due to our timing. We typically do the larger tours, which are a bit cheaper and with more reviews available, however Ian's tour was the only one available, so we went with it. Let me say this was well worth the money and an amazing experience! Ian has been in the area for many years and is very familiar with this route. He was extremely prepared and very informative about the area. For those that don't know, this trip is quite lengthy and Ian prepared wonderfully, ensuring he had extra gas cans for that extremely comfortable 4Runner and we didn't have any issues at all getting around. The Dalton Highway is very remote, with difficult driving conditions (don't go on your own!) and no cell reception, so you need someone that knows what they're doing. Ian is that person! He was very accommodating for when we wanted to stop for pictures, even assisting with looking for the Aurora despite it not being listed on the trip. Also, while other tours list the Trans-Alaska Pipeline as part of the tour and Ian's doesn't, you will see it. You drive along side it for most of the way and there are a few spots you can pull off to see it, which Ian was more than willing to do. While we went in the middle of winter, the views were still spectacular and left us wishing we could see it in the Summer as well. To sum it up , this tour was well worth the money and time invested in it. This area can be very dangerous and treacherous, but we felt safe and secure the whole time with Ian. He is a great tour guide and this is highly recommended. Don't get stuck on a bus full of people; go for the more personal experience and get your money's worth!
