Wrong number given on litrature that led to very embarrasing hold up. This still happened despite ringing Viator two times prior to travelling. Luckily on the second occasion the company operative gave me an alternative number that I wrote down. Eventually having argued my case with the number gievn to ring by Viator the operative realised it was another company as they had not worked with Viator for many years. Once sorted the car finally arrived and we were taken to our hotel.
Dreadful! Once we had arrived at Chicago airport we had to phone a number in New York! to confirm we had arrived before we could even get the private transfer. Not only did we lose a great deal of money using a mobile phone registered in the UK, the public phones would not recognise the number either. The car and driver should have been waiting for us, not us waiting for the car to arrive!
The most important thing is that the driver got us to our destination safely.
Two things could have been improved. 1. Calling from the baggage area of the airport is very noisy, and with the strong accent of the dispatcher, it was very difficult to hear his instructions and I had to ask for repeated instructions many times. 2. The driver was unfriendly and did not even return a greeting.
