We had Misty, and Ryan as our tour guides, captains, divers, photographers, educators of manatees, hot cocoa, and coffee barista. They were wonderful, and patient even with a first time snorkeler like myself. They were so good at guiding us, and spotting were the manatees were. We were all able to observe at least 9 different manatees on our tour including a couple babies and mothers. It was an unforgettable experience that I’m so glad I got to experience with my daughters. I was pretty nervous at first, but I’m so glad I did it. I also appreciated that they obviously love what they do, and care about the manatees, so they make sure that everyone is educated on how to behave around them. It keeps the manatees safe, and also makes it a true nature experience.I would highly recommend this if your staying in the area, or even if you have to drive an hour and a half like we did:)
We went on Nov 29th. December- February definitely sounds like the best time to go, so that you have the best chance at seeing some. But the captain/ dive masters are great, and even if you only get to see one of these gentle sea creatures it would be worth it.
