We had an open day so we decided to look into “whitewater” rafting on the Weber river. We called High Country and were able to schedule something the next day. We did the two hour guided raft tour. We got to their location (which is really just a trailer and a porta-potty just inside the gate) and after getting our life jackets, we headed for the river.
If you’re looking for real whitewater (hence the quotation marks above), this isn’t it. It’s a calm ride with just a few splashes. But, our guide, Russ, was pleasant and knowledgeable and kept us off the rocks. The scenery was beautiful and overall, we had a good time. If we do go again, I think we’ll tube instead of rafting. Covid-wise, we had a private raft and rode back separately from another group. Our guide kept his mask on for the whole trip.
Overall, I’d recommend this activity if you’re looking for a relaxing family activity on a hot afternoon.
