The Hāna Highway is a 64.4-mile long stretch of spectacular views of rainforest, waterfalls, beaches and coastline. On the east after Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kīpahulu on the Piilani Highway. Although Hāna is only about 52 miles from Kahului, it takes about 2.5 hours to drive when no stops are made as the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, 46 of which are only one lane wide. There are approximately 620 curves along Route 360 from just east of Kahului to Hāna, virtually all of it through lush, tropical rainforest. Many of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910 and all but one are still in use. This full-day trip to the Hana coast has the best scenic drive along the shorelines of Maui.

Hana Highway -

Ho'okipa Beach

Half Way to Hana Snack;

Our guide Justin was great. He is a local and very knowledgeable about the tour/island. We had a great time but we didn’t stop at a couple places we thought we were going to. If a person is prone to car sickness they should not go on this tour.

I would like to thank Justin for driving the longest coastal scenic route safely and getting everyone safely back to their hotels. Yes, when you search and read for days about Road to Hana Tour, people think all the spots they read while they were searching will be stops, but all the things you saw and thought you were going to stop is totally different. Just pick one tour and read the one that you are booking.

The experience was sadly disappointing. Our tour guide gave us little information on what we were seeing. She gave no assistance to the guests getting on and off the van even elderly. The views were stunning, but history and background info would have been better. Past guides have been very informative, interactive, etc. our return trip she spent talking to the guests getting seated next to her. She left our group off and took van to run personal errands. I found myself listening to other tour guides as they instructed guests since our guide was a minimalist. Sadly disappointed at all of the missed opportunities guests missed for learning by her silence. The views were beautiful

+ Malia gave good information about the sights and history of the area. The van was comfortable & very clean. Lunch provided was great! The access to the black sand beach and ability to take in the sights stress-free and leave the driving to someone else were the major pros. We swam in a waterfall and stopped for banana bread, a delicious acai bowl, and some shopping at a great farm. We got to stop at several places that weren’t on the “required itinerary list” and she generally tried to make sure everyone was having a good day. Also, I tend to get quite carsick and I had no trouble on the road!! - Although we could not stop at some of the areas with the tour bus, Malia did try to drive slow past the bridges near waterfalls and give information about them. Breakfast was also lackluster, although the restaurant setting was very cute. It may be because we arrived a little late due to some of our attendees arriving at the tour meeting point late, but unfortunately food was cold and didn’t have great flavor. I would have skipped the provided breakfast and had more time elsewhere.
