Note that the Sea Lions are not on both cruises. It was not for young children. I think we went on the south bay. The kids may have liked the north bay more with the sea lions. Hornblower needs to be more clear. My ticket said, "Sea Lion Adventure" but no sea lions. Kids were bored. Fell asleep.

This was a fun way to learn about the naval influence and coastal history of San Diego while relaxing on the top deck. It was an enjoyable cruise and we saw sea lions, with one pup too. I went on the first morning tour which only had about 25 people or so but we returned to the dock midway through to let people off who had just done the 1 hour and to let others on and the top deck filled up.

First time to San Diego with the kids and thought this would be a great adventure for them. The kids had a blast running around the boat. They do not allow any outside food or beverage but they do have a bar for drinks and snacks. The prices were reasonable. My recommendation is to not worry about getting a chair on the main deck (facing backwards). It is hot, crowded, and not worth the fight. We got a table inside the main deck and we all went between there and standing at the front of the boat. No one was up there and we got prime viewing of the bay. My issues were with the sound system. The staff was trying to tell us all about the bay as we passed things but the sound system was horrible. Cutting out, making horrible sounds. The boat was run down as I am sure thousands of people go through there per month. They need to do a little updating and repairs. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper within the first 30 minutes. I think because we were at the end of the day the staff was ready to be done.
