This prestigious award recognizes Cruisin' the Castro as a longstanding, community-servicing business and a valuable cultural asset to the City & County of San Francisco.

Tours are fun, fascinating and offers twice as many tour stops that not only include the colorful sites of the largest LGBTQ community in the world, but explores the spectrum of sexual and gender diversity and the struggle with achieving equal rights in America.   No other tour offer this rare and educational opportunity!

Tours are conducted by a local resident, professional tour guide and a civil rights activist.

We got a very personal meeting with Kathy. With her warmth and great knowledge of the neighbourhood and it´s history, she gave us an interesting, engaging and touching tour around the streets of Castro. An excellent and informative tour of the Castro from a lovely and knowledgeable guide. It takes you beyond what you can find for yourself and lifts your spirit. Please ignore the very negative review- look at all of the others. It's a proper business not meant to shock but is truthful and open. Heartily recommended .

This was a really interesting tour. Kathy gave us lots of personal insights and took us round so many sights in the Castro area. It was clear that Kathy is a real part of the community and she talked to us about events and individuals that have shaped gay San Francisco. Kathy was also interested in hearing about our own experiences in the UK and comparing that with the US. The tour also included alot of fun aspects of gay San Francisco, including a display of Billy dolls in "interesting" poses!! Highly recommended!
