With 30 years of teaching experience, a NM Level 2 Art Teaching license, 10 years of experience as the founder and executive director of the Tarnoff Art Center(a 501c3) based here in the Santa fe area, and the current co-owner of Artful Soul Creative Experiences in Downtown Santa Fe, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her classes. As she is dedicated to guiding students on their artistic journey . Laura graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she underwent a rigorous academic art education. Her disciplined training included studying the human figure and mastering various traditional art mediums such as pastels, oil painting, watercolors, pen and ink, and much more. Laura's own artwork is a testament to her vibrant and painterly style, ranging from tight realism to wild non-objective abstractions. Known for her "Figurative Abstractions," Laura infuses her work with emotionally charged colors, figurative distortions, and expressive brushstrokes.

Holy Cow! This was fun! I am so glad I went! The entire experience was not only ARTFUL with friends, but SOULFUL by trying new things in a creative way. Ms. Laura Tarnoff was very insightful, funny and patient with us and it was very enjoyable on the fact that everyone came to have fun through learning and painting. I highly recommend this for novice and seasoned artists. It's a really great atmosphere and you'll meet new and interesting people. This creative event was a colorful journey! THANK YOU!
