My wife and I knew that we would have a limited time on Oahu when we arrived in Honolulu via cruise ship. We wanted to make the best of our brief visit and initially planned to rent a car to tour the island. Since we had never before been to the island nor did we know what would be the best things to see during our visit, the travel agent who arranged our cruise recommended Island Safari Jeep Tour.
That choice turned out to be ideal. Our tour-guide, Sean Ah-Yen, arrived at our cruise ship pier slightly ahead of the designated time, called me and provided directions for how to quickly find his Jeep at the crowded terminal. While other ship passengers were boarding crowded tour buses, we had our guide and Jeep to ourselves for a highly personalized experience and the ability to explore beautiful areas of Oahu where tour buses are unable to navigate.
As a native Hawaiian, our guide/driver provided us with experiences and detailed information that we could have never been able to achieve on our own. Not having to share our knowledgeable guide with a bus full of other tourists provided us with a personalized experience that enabled us to see more, learn more and capture exceptional photos of Oahu's spectacular landscapes, seascapes and beaches.
In summary, we had a guide who focused on providing us with a pleasant, fulfilling experience. He had a good eye for photography, made some good suggestions for our photos and cheerfully photographed us with our cameras. In all ways he showed concern for our comfort and for providing us with a positive tour experience.
