Calvin was awesome! He was very friendly and worked hard to help my wife and me get up on the boards for our first time. Even shared one of his mangos with us afterward! Highly recommend.

It was an average experience and not bad. My family and I would have preferred to have spent a little more time on the beach learning the step by step drills to stand when it was time after catching a wave, although we did practice once before we went out. I would suggest you go on off peak times, as we booked a mid-morning semi-private lesson. It was so jammed packed with other groups from other schools, you had to compete to get your turn with the instructor Trinity who sometimes couldn't get the other students from other schools out of the line of direction. Literally, we were sometimes inches apart in dangerous situations and the markers for safety were not anchored correctly and drifted. However, the instructor Trinity appeared to be a fabulous surfer and could push the end of your surfboard for you really well. For the amount of the lesson, it was otherwise worth it.

Our experience with MWR was amazing. We had the one hour SUP lesson and our instructor was stellar!!! Calvin was friendly, encouraging, and quite patient. We all did really well and it was not because of natural talent. ;) I have nothing but positive things to share because it was a perfect experience--from the welcome we got in the office to the coaching we got out on the water --11/10. CAlvin was so friendly, not overly chatty but just the nicest guy. I hope that people who read this review will believe in it enough to book with MWR. We had a memorable time for sure, and when we return we will have another lesson before trying it on our own.
