We've created a fascinating kayak tour in St Pete, centered on our Crystal Clear kayaks, giving you a fascinating look at the sea life throughout Shell Key preserve, and Fort Desoto park. Our professional guides provide an interesting narration of the local wildlife and ecosystem. The tours can range from 2 persons to 16 people, and are approximately 2 to 2 -1/2 hours long. The tours will primarily operate in the protected waters and mangroves tunnels of the Shell Key Wildlife Preserve in Pinellas County. An 1,800 acre preserve, these waters are well traveled by Dolphins, Manatees, Rays, as well as a variety of shore birds, including pelicans, egrets, herons, cormorants, osprey, and sometimes roseate spoonbills.

Please note: This activity is NOT suitable for the Elderly or the Obese, or people with back surgeries/issues, or with a history of other physical ailments. You must be physically fit for participate in this activity.

Taylor was an amazing guide, full of information about the waterways and history of the area. We took our 10 and 12 year old children and they loved every minute. Saw horseshoe crabs, tree crabs and dolphins. The time flew by and the trip into the mangrove tunnels was magical. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the area. There’s plenty of room in the kayaks for water, sunscreen etc and Taylor even emailed us pictures she’d taken from our trip and a map of the course we’d travelled.

As avid kayakers, my family of four decided to try the clear kayak tour in Shell Key during our trip to the Tampa/St. Pete area. Based on the novelty, we were excited to explore the Gulf waters inside clear boats so we could see the water life below. We do admit the clear kayaks were nice but more difficult to row and maneuver given they are wider than a normal kayak (particularly for single riders). Our guide, Taylor, was awesome and had tremendous enthusiasm for the experience. She took us through mangrove tunnels, showed us wildlife, and was very informative about each step of the way. Highly recommend.

My sister and I love to kayak and take kayaking tours in most places we visit. This kayaking tour did not disappoint. Taylor our guide was amazing and knowledgeable about the area, and wildlife . We went about 3.5 miles through many mangroves and open water to a beach. Since we booked the small group tour Taylor made sure to ask what kind of beach we were looking for. Since we are kayaking I wanted a beach that I am not going to experience by walking out of my hotel room. She knew the exact beach. We booked the clear kayak for this trip just because I had never been in a clear kayak. While a great experience for those that kayak often you will find that the clear kayak is wider and sits lower. I highly recommend this trip and ask for Taylor if you can she is amazing!
