Join us for a narrated and scenic drive from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, explore the beauty of Giant Coastal Redwoods at Muir Woods, and appreciate the astonishing views from Sausalito's picturesque waterfront.
On the way to the Woods, we usually make a short stop on the Northern side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
We will spend one hour and twenty minutes in the Muir Woods and about one hour in Sausalito. Then we will take you back to your hotel. Should you decide to stay there longer, you can return to the city by Ferry or Uber. Ferry tickets are not included.
We also run this tour in the morning, if there is a sufficient number of people.
Muir Wood tour can be combined with a San Francisco City tour and/or Half Day Wine Tour to Sonoma.

Muir Woods National Monument

It is located on Mount Tamalpais near the Pacific coast in SW Marin County and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, just 12 miles (19 km) north of SF. It protects 554 acres (224 ha) of which 240 acres (97 ha) are old-growth coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) forests, the tallest living objects on Earth. Due to its proximity to the Ocean, the forest is regularly shrouded in a coastal marine layer fog. It remains cool and moist year-round with daytime temperatures averaging between 40 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit (4 to 21 °C). Millions of years ago ancestors of redwood and sequoia trees grew throughout North America. Today, the Sequoia sempervirens can be found only in a narrow, cool coastal belt from Monterey County, California, in the south to Oregon in the north.

This wasn't a great experience and I would not use this tour company again. First, three of us were booked for a Saturday afternoon tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito that we had reserved months in advance. I received a call the night before saying that we were the only ones who had signed up for the afternoon tour and trying to pressure me to join the 8am tour where he did have other customers. I told him we had other plans in the morning and declined. During the tour, driving over the Golden Gate Bridge, the tour driver noted how it was a popular spot for committing suicide. While this is true and widely known, I don't think it's a great thing to mention in a tour, especially with a kid in the car. Then as we headed through the Robin Williams Tunnel, the driver again mentioned that the comedian had committed suicide. Why on earth was this necessary? Do not recommend.

The woods are a must visit. Out guide picked us up and dropped us of very timely and was knowledgeable about the history and current events of the area.
