this little cruise was super sweet and intimate! the crew was awesome! and the food, chefs kissss***!!! delicious! the two hour ride was smooth and the sunset was absolutely breathtaking!!!!!! i highly recommend, and the only suggestion i would say is to book according to weather, although it was a little cloudy, we still enjoyed a beautiful sunset (but it ours was a gloomier day) overall, would def do it again!

Thank you for the wonderful review! Your recommendation about the weather is good advice and I would add that the Hawaii weather is generally very good but changes quickly. We get great views and nice weather the vast majority of the time, however this spring has been a bit of a challenge.

We decided to go on a dinner cruise to say goodbye to Oahu. I am about to serve a 1 year dependant restricted tour, and will truly miss my family and our island home of the past 3 years. The crew were very attentive to the needs of all passengers, whether that was bringing drinks or stopping what they were doing to help snap a photo or two with your entire party. The chef on board prepared an outstanding three course meal for the guests consisting of either beef or fish for the main dish. I and my family had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of this dinner cruise. I look forward to stopping back to see Captain John when I return to Oahu. I would like to mention that alcohol is not served on board, but you are more than welcome to bring your own. This did not effect me or my family, but thought it was worth mentioning for those that it may effect.

Have off our group what sick they didn’t have any medicine like it’s states on their details no signature drink. Unfortunately it’s was not worth it for us everything was so unorganized.

We sincerely appreciate customers taking the time to write an honest review for us but sometimes reviews are just disingenuous and based on failed efforts to get discounted trips or refunds. This group was a large group of 23 people which initially tried to get a refund by insisting that they were misled by being provided with a false (late) departure time. At about 45 minutes prior to their initially scheduled 6pm dinner cruise departure, they claimed to be unable to make the trip because they had booked the “7pm cruise” which simply does not exist. Even though once informed that there is no “7pm cruise” and no refund would be provided and they rudely hung up the phone on us, we still generously rebooked them to another day, on a cruise with a higher retail price (at no charge). Despite this effort to salvage the situation, we knew they were going to be problematic. On the day of their rebooked cruise, they contacted us and insisted that they had booked three additional passengers, which were not listed on their booking. We were happy to add those new passengers at the retail cost, but the group declined and instead went directly to Viator, claiming the same mystery passengers. The Viator booking reflected the same numbers as our boking system. Even with the booking facts, they still insisted that they had paid for three additional passengers but reluctantly agreed to have the passengers added at the last minute. Of note, adding additional passengers doesn’t actually cost anything when you intend to claim on a refund after the trip. The weather for this cruise was excellent and it is true that a small number of passengers got seasick, but this is not out of the ordinary. The Prince Kuhio cruises on open ocean and many people simply are not used to that and get motion sickness. Just like cars, just like airplanes. We do our absolute best to communicate to every passenger, through our web site and booking documents, that they must consider their own motion sickness risk and prepare accordingly, including taking medication if necessary. Their claim that we “didn’t have any medicine like it states in their details” is completely misleading. Tour vessels in Hawaii ARE NOT ALLOWED to distribute medications of any kind to passengers, including motion sickness medication. Also, we absolutely DO NOT state or imply anywhere in our marketing or documentation that we provide motion sickness medication to passengers. Unfortunately, there is a bit of an epidemic of this type of group in the tourism industry lately and we’ve learned to recognize the signs. There is very little that we can do other than continue to do our best to provide a quality experience, keep a watchful eye (an owner of the company was on the cruise and interacted with the group... they appeared to have a great time and provided no negative feedback), and wait by the computer for the refund request… which is exactly what happened.
