This special time turns into an unforgettable experience when you witness it from horseback, traveling through quiet forests and beautiful mountain trails. That’s not to mention that at sunset everything cools down and all the birds start to sing. Trust us, it’s the best time of day to ride.

On the trail, you might see grazing cattle, native fruit trees, and even wild pigs. You’ll also have sneak peeks of the ocean below, leading up to the best part—a thrilling panoramic view from our scenic lookout. You’ll remember it for years to come.

We did a family excursion to Gunstock Ranch which included both the Sunset Horseback ride and the Legacy Tree Planting. The entire experience was wonderful. The Sunset Horseback Ride was beautiful, relaxing and overall just felt very pleasant. We had a phenomenal guide (Camila) who engaged us the entire way. The horses were well taken care of and we felt comfortable on the ride. It was a beautiful ride and the scenery was gorgeous! We loved that the staff were very careful, wearing & requiring masks, social distancing at check in and through the experience and everything looked clean and orderly. Highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful experience at Gunstock Ranch. Drew, our trail guide, was experienced and attentive. It was obvious that he loved the horses and his job. He took us to where the view of the Koolau Mt range with the ocean was awesome. The horses we rode responded very well to our directions. We would definitely come back in the future.

As a Kama`āina, I always said I wanted to go horseback riding but never got around to doing it. This summer, we finally booked a tour, and we are so happy we did! What a fun experience! Gunstock Ranch does a great job making you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you park. They show tremendous Aloha in the way they care for the land, their horses, and their customers. Our guides, Camilla and Drew, were so accommodating. They were patient, informative, and very warm. The sunset tour takes you to the top of a lookout that gives you a stunning view of Windward O`ahu. Itʻs absolutely breathtaking! We highly recommend Gunstock Ranch!
