My boyfriend and I had a blast learning to surf with Stoke Drift! Their stand is located near the army museum/the military hotel near Waikiki beach. We stayed at one of the hotels near the Duke’s statue so it wasn’t a far walk at all. When we got to the stand, we bought our own rash guards but they had rash guards for you to borrow. On the beach our instructor, Heitor, taught us the basics steps to surf. He made sure everyone understood how to get up on the board. Once he felt that everyone understood, he and the rest of the staff got us our boards and led us to where we would be surfing. I’ll be honest – it was a little farther than expected but the instructors helped us get there. I started getting really tired paddling so Heitor put his foot on my board and took me all the way to the surfing spot. Everyone was able to catch a couple waves and, when I couldn’t get on the board, the staff were super helpful in getting me back on.
I definitely recommend Stoke Drift!
