Sunset Suzy's Surf School on the North Shore of Oahu beyond exceeded my expectations. From the moment me and my three girlfirends from Toronto, Canada met Suzy, we knew that we would have an amazing time. Suzy is not only a very experienced surfing instructor, but she's also so fun, friendly and eager to make her student's vacatiion the best it can be.
The accomodations were outstanding. Suzy rented us nine girls in total a stunning beach house right across the street from the gorgeous Chun's Beach. She hired us a fantastic personal chef to come in and cook the majority of our meals. And for any meals that we did not go home for and ate on the go, Suzy would pay for it all. She truly made the week an "all inclusive" experience.
As for the surfing instruction, Suzy made sure that we always had at least two instructors in the water with us. And the instructors were all experienced, patient and so encouraging. Thanks to the instructors and Suzy, all of us were riding the waves by the very last day of the camp.
Suzy also made sure despite weather or time conditions, to stick to everything that was outlined in her itinerary (available for viewing on www.sunsetsuzy.com). We went swimming in Waimea Falls, to the Polynesian Cultural Centre for a luau and show, had hula dancing lessons and had drinks and dinner at the posh Turtle Bay Resort.
Suzy even went out of her way to hire two masseuses to come and give us each a 1 hour massage after a long, hard week of surfing! What more could you ask for?
All in all, I was so genuinely impressed by the operation of Suzy's Surf School. I would recommend this experience to girls (or women) of any age because through this surf camp, you really get to experience Hawaii in its entirety. We truly had a chance to interact with the locals, experience the local culture and most importantly, we learned how to surf. A week at Sunset Suzy's will leave you not only rejuvenated, but enpowered as well.
