When it comes to Colorado whitewater, hardly anyone knows about the San Miguel River. Which is kind of a surprise! Given how much fun it is, on top of being in proximity to bougie and beloved Telluride.

The rafting section is gorgeously scenic, exciting for all experience levels, and pretty much a must if you want to spend the morning like a local. Its red sandstone canyon juxtaposed by flourishing pine forests make for a picturesque setting to recreate on this Rocky Mountain river.

Anyone who loves the outdoors will have an absolute hoot on this tour, whether it’s your first or hundredth time rafting. Just ask our guides, most— if not all!— will agree that the San Miguel is their favorite river to run.

Very fun rafting trip. Always felt safe. Funny and easy going guides. The boats were in good condition and they supplied wetsuits and booties. Couldn’t have been easier!

Booked using website and found it very intuitive and easy to navigate. Same with the standard waiver forms, all done in advance. The trip cost is reasonable and a great value. Our pre-trip briefing emphasized safety and seemed to cover all scenarios -made us feel confident. The rafting went great. The river was flowing fast (650 cfs) and provided plenty of excitement surrounded by beautiful scenery. We were glad to use wetsuits, (farmer John style with booties and a splash jacket) . Guides were skilled, professional and entertaining. Only disappointment was not getting any photos. Maybe one of the shuttle drivers could take a photo of each boat as it went by, somewhere mid trip. If you’re tempted by a fun adventure on the river, do it!!

Spencer and Jess were great raft guides! Spencer has three seasons under his belt as a guide w mild to wild. He was engaging, funny, and safe to be in the raft with. Jess was getting her first season under way and was also entertaining us on our float. Loved the good vibes all the crew brought. The dogs were happy. Can’t wait to be back on the water soon.
