Island of Hawaii

Start your adventure by flying along saddle road between Mauna Kea (tallest mountain in the world) and Mauna Loa (largest mass mountain in the world) toward Kilauea Iki, one of the most active volcanoes on earth. Head north up the windward side of the island passing Hilo town, the wettest town on earth, and the heavenly Hamakua Coast filled with flora and fauna. We then decent upon the Kohala Valleyʻs of Waipiʻo, Waimanu, and Pololu, home to 2500 feet waterfalls. We climb and cross over the summit of Kohala, the oldest of the five volcanoes that make up the Island of Hawaiʻi. Your tour concludes with a beautiful coastline flight over white sand beaches, pristine coral reefs, ancient lava flows, historic heeiau (temples) and the luxury resorts that make their homes on the island’s leeward shores.

My husband and I booked a private helicopter tour, and it was amazing. Given how inaccessible a lot of the island is, this is the best way to see it. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. When we were there, the national park was closed, but there was plenty else to see. I highly recommend this. Book first thing in the morning so it's not too hot and the clouds haven't obstructed any views.

Trying to book choppers for a tour for 6 people whilst in Australia was not the easiest thing to do. We did have some complications but Helen worked her magic and kept us up to date in the process and my party of 6 all flew at the same time in two choppers. Daily phone calls on the chance of flying due to the Hurricane were greatly appreciated. On the day whilst we couldn't do the volcano tour because of weather the second option of the waterfall tour was brilliant. The refund on the difference was an added bonus and calling a cab for us and telling us about other areas of the island to see was above and beyond. The pilots Shaun and Jacob were great and very professional and friendly! I have only brilliant things to say about the experience and the people and it was a highlight of the week in Hawaii. Thank you so much Helen, Shaun and Jacob.

We know how important your visit to Hawaii is and no impending Hurricane was going to ruin it as far as we were concerned. Waterfalls and Valleys, I believe, are the most beautiful and breathtaking part of our island and seeing it with most of the "Doors Off" adds to the excitement. 1500 feet tall waterfalls in lush rain forest valleys simply say "Hawaii at its finest". We came right in the thick of Hurricane Lane and the team an Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours was flexible in rescheduling us to a date where there weren't hurricane force winds or torrential rain. We originally booked the Full Island Circle tour, but unfortunately due to weather was adjusted to the Waterfall tour, which was still amazing. These are views that you can't get anywhere else but from the air. The team was also super prompt in processing our refund in the difference in cost between the two tours - when we landed, I already had an email saying that our refund had been processed! Was a great experience and highly recommend.
