This tour is designed to showcase the unique colors of the Smoky Mountains in the fall. The peak colors change from year to year but we always try to track down the areas where the most color can be found. This tour runs only from October through mid November. Along the way you will see a lot of the local area inside and outside of the park. Your guide will give you a lot of information along the way about the history and heritage of the local area and its people. The route can change from day to day based on the guides intuition and the areas where color may be most likely. Tree color isn't always going to cooperate in the earlier part of the month, please bear this in mind when choosing your date. Even on those days when color isn't easily found however, we show you some of the most amazing views and regale you with stories and history. This tour is a full 5 hours of sights, stories, and views that can't be missed.

The colors were awful, not the services fault, but it was not worth the price we paid. The van/bus seats were very tight and uncomfortable

I tried to spray paint as many leaves as a could but it just wasn't enough. The trees are not under our control so they change when they feel like it. We do our best to find the best areas for viewing but as it states on our website it changes from year to year and if you come early you might see no colors at all. If you come late then they might already be gone. Not everyone picks the best time to see colors. We provide lots of information on the history and heritage of our beautiful mountain home while taking you to the areas where you can see the most colors for that specific day. We can't make the trees turn colors just because you booked a tour. As we state on the tour, the trees change when they are ready to change based on certain criteria. Next year pick a better week to visit if you are more concerned with colors than with stories. We run a similar tour in summer where everything is green and people really like our stories. We may rename the tour "The tour with lots of information and stories with a chance to see colors if the trees corporate and guests visit on a good week" ... bit of a mouthful but at least then no one will be disappointed.

We loved seeing the views of the Smokies and listening to Dustin share cultural and historical information about the area. His sense of humor was quite entertaining. The tour started promptly, and everything was as advertised except that the leaves’ colors had peaked several days prior. However, that was Mother Nature’s call and did not at all detract from our experiencing the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains and learning lots of background about the area. Lunch at Elvira’s was excellent! This tour was a worthy investment of our time and money.

Our guide Dustin was very interesting. He has deep family roots in the area and I loved listening to his many stories. Even though leaves were past their peak we saw many new things and lunch was delicious. Thank you Dustin for making our tour something we will remember. You were great! 😊
