I really enjoyed the 2 hr horse back ride. While it is a trail ride it's not the traditional one where you're bored. You're doing a lot of climbs or descents with the horses and even of course some trotting and then the final gallop but only if you want to. The horses are well taken care of which is important. They're full of energy and life which matters whether you're a first time rider or one whose been doing it for years. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves these creatures.

We've tried different horseback riding experiences on Maui over the years and this was the best one we've experienced. The guides were fun, the horses were lively, in great shape and obviously well taken care of and the scenery was gorgeous. This part of Maui features some of the most spectacular views. I'd highly recommend this.

For a group of about 15 or so we had two very professional, helpful, and super friendly guides (SO to Fred and Celina). They were very prepared with helmets and saddlebags for beverages and small personal items. As a beginner, I was definitely a little anxious going into it: will it be hard to balance on the saddle, will the horse be temperamental, etc. The guides were great at showing you everything you need to know before you got on the horse, and even helped you match up with the perfect horse based on experience level. The horses there were all great, and it was easy to figure out that each one had a different personality. During the ride, you go in a single file line along dirty trails so be ready to get dusty! We went up the mountainside to a vista where the guides helped us take pics with our phone, gave us a brief tour about the adjacent mountain and waterfalls! From there we traveled down the mountain and to the coast line to another scenic vista where we did the same. From there, the last jog back to the ranch included a stretch where, if you wanted to, they will guide your horse into a small run up the side of the mountain which was pretty exhilarating. We finish up at the ranch, dismount and finally find out whic cowboys waddle the way they do. What I enjoyed the most about the ride is how much you get to feel comfortable about controlling your horse. Although yes, the tour is guided and horses are single-file, you still have to rein them in when they get distracted by a passing shrub or give them a heel kick to keep up with the line. Whenever a horse in the group strayed a little from the pack, the guides were great about instructing us first in how to correct them, and then will step in to correct if that does work. Overall, we had a blast with this experience and would DEFINITELY recommend to everyone.
